Turkish-French Partnerships for Africa
Simmons & Simmons Paris is pleased to announce our upcoming event, in partnership with the Foreign Economic Board of Turkey (DEIK). We will bring together Turkish and French companies active or interested in Africa in order to explore possible partnerships in the continent, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, finance and telecoms. We will also discuss the opportunities and challenges of investing in Africa, both from a legal and commercial perspective.
In the past fifteen years, the diplomatic and trade relations between Turkey and Africa have evolved: the number of Turkish embassies has risen to 41 (against 9 in 2003), the volume of Turkish investments has tripled and Turkish Airlines has become the airline serving the most destinations over the continent.
Turkish companies are, however, fully aware of the challenges of investing in Africa and are keen to establish strategic partnerships to consolidate their presence in the continent in a viable and sustainable way. For this reason, they turn to French companies which benefit from a singular experience in the African markets.
