Changes to the EIA Regulations in 2017 - what you need to know

This webinar is part of a series, presented by Ricardo Energy & Environment’s waste management and planning experts, in partnership with senior lawyers from Simmons & Simmons LLP.

This session covered amendments to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations that were agreed by the European Parliament in 2014 and which are required to be transposed into UK legislation (even after the Brexit referendum) by 16 May 2017.

At the beginning of December 2016, the Scottish and Welsh Governments published draft revised EIA Regulations but the English revisions are still awaited. The consultation on implementation of these regulations in England was issued on 14 December 2016. The implementation of the proposed regulations will have a significant influence on EIA practices in England.
